Beyond Music: Immersive Development

Aural State expands her work beyond production into immersive technology and real-world installations. These projects combine VR development, audio engineering, and interactive design to push the boundaries of how people experience sound and space.

Grid City

A virtual record store and event space built inside VRChat. Grid City features multiple areas for exploration, performance, and connection.

It serves as the central hub for Threshold Records’ virtual events and community gatherings.

Voidlight S4

A collaboration with Luminality, the Voidlight S4 is a screen-space shader controller designed to manipulate first person VR visuals in sync with music. Aura handled the 3D modeling, texturing, and rigging, helping bring the system to life as an ergonomic visual tool that enhances the sensory depth of live VR performances.

Portal Events

Portal Events bridge physical and virtual performance spaces. Using Intel RealSense depth cameras and projectors, DJs and audiences are captured in real time and projected into VR, while the virtual world is simultaneously displayed in physical venues. This setup enables real-time interaction between both environments.

Audio Engineering

At DETOUR 002, Aural State managed all aspects of the venue’s audio configuration — including routing, calibration, and room tuning. The system featured Behringer Wing, Pioneer CDJs, a DJM-V10, and Dante networking, ensuring reliable, professional-grade performance for a hybrid in-person and VR event.

Gallery Installation

At the Angels Gate Cultural Center in Los Angeles, Aura configured the computer and network infrastructure for Across The Line, a VR installation by Nonny de la Peña for Planned Parenthood. She handled both the technical setup and physical installation required to support the immersive exhibit.
